Frome U15s 5

Wells U15s 24

This encounter proved to be hard- fought, with both sides boasting useful packs.

The early minutes were spent in the Wells half and after 10 minutes, Frome scored the first brochure printing try following a five-metre scrum.

Wells finally woke up as the battle among the forwards started to be won, while the backs also played their part, especially in defending against the Frome wide men.

As Wells started to command the ball and gain territorial superiority, Frome began to struggle, with scrum-half Charlie Cook scoring the visitors' first try, converted by Sam Butler.

Wells thought they had scored a second try following a powerful run by Ned Lloyd-Jones, but he was adjudged to have put a foot in touch. However, minutes later Lloyd-Jones forced his way over to score near the posts.

The pattern of play, with Wells dominant, continued in the second half, with almost the entire period played in the Frome 22.

Wells' tries in the second period were scored by Butler, the first from an interception and the second from close to the line following a spell of Wells pressure.

Winscombe U11s 28

Wellington U11s 7

Winscombe scored first when the ball popped straight out of the scrum and George Marsh swooped for a five- pointer.

Wellington responded well, but good work from Gabe Bell and Josh Hunt allowed Henry Joyner to score a well-worked try.

Wellington hit back with a score, but George Harrison and Josh shared the honours for try number three.

In the second half there was excellent play by all of the forwards, especially Lewis Yallop and Rory Hancock, while the backs then got in on the act when a great kick by Will Macarthur and a chase by Thomas Amer put the visitors' defence under pressure.

Joe Duran had a good chance to score when he drove through a couple of tackles, but super defensive work by the visitors held him up.

Winscombe then won a scrum close to the line and a slick pass from scrum-half Joe Gallagher allowed Thomas the opportunity to jink his way through to score Winscombe's fourth. All of the tries were converted by Matt Cottington and Will.

A second game was played, with Winscombe trying players in a few different positions.

Wellington fielded a mostly unchanged side and this showed, with a dominant performance scoring seven unanswered tries.

There were some notable performances in defensive tackling from the ever-reliable Lewy Wall and support from Tom Fear, Matt Callow, Leon and Charlie Clough.

Tor U13s 48

Cheddar U13s 25

In their second home match of the season, Tor allowed Cheddar to score a try within the first few minutes.

A hard and fast match followed, with Tor fighting back after an excellent team effort.

Good work by the forwards and passing down the line helped set up three tries for Jake Smart, three for Austin Fouracres and two for Shea Bruce-Watson. Ollie Frost converted four tries.
